Recap: Tate Aggies vs. Ascension Christian
The Tate Aggies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Ascension Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 84-36 victory on the road. That 84-36 margin sets a new team best for Tate this season.
Tate had a senior duo take command as Evan Bignell dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds and Deonne Williams, jr. scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Bignell set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Steen, who scored nine points.
Tate has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Ascension Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Tate won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bay at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th. Bay is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Ascension Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Martin's Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Martin's Episcopal has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 481 points over their last seven games.
