Baseball Recap: Oak Glen Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Oak Glen was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They fell just short of the Beaver Local Beavers by a score of 3-2. The Golden Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Noah Willey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. He is becoming a predictor of Oak Glen's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 3-8 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Christian Chappell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Oak Glen's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Beaver Local, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

While Oak Glen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
