The Central Tigers will challenge the Poplar Bluff Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Central is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Jackson just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Fighting Indians by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chapman Ogles
| 03/29/25 @ Kirkwood | 5 |
| 03/21/25 @ Sikeston | 2 |
| 05/05/25 vs Jackson | 1 |
| 04/26/25 vs Caruthersville | 1 |
Chapman Ogles spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. Central is 5-2 when Ogles allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
Meanwhile, while Poplar Bluff put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Kelly. The Mules put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 8-0 win. The Mules not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 12-2).
The result came thanks to Rion Tenchavez's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Marcus Tabanera and Caden Jenkins did most of the damage at the plate: Tabanera went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Jenkins went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Jenkins has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Hall, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Poplar Bluff has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Central might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Poplar Bluff when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
