Baseball Recap: Mountain Pine Has No Trouble Against Caddo Hills

Mountain Pine had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Caddo Hills on Friday. The Mountain Pine Red Devils put the hurt on the Caddo Hills Indians with a sharp 13-2 win. The Red Devils have beaten the Indians the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Indians has come to flipping the script.

Chris Morgan was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joey Eads, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-2. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Putman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Mountain Pine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mountain Pine's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Caddo Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
