After a string of nine wins, Lake Brantley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Lake Mary Rams by a score of 2-1. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Lake Brantley might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Lake Mary: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 33-31, 15-12.

Luis Marrero paced Lake Brantley's offense, picking up 14 kills. Marrero got some help from Efrain L. Rivera Rodriguez and his 31 assists. Finally, Miles Medico kept Lake Brantley's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Lake Brantley's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Lake Mary, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

While Lake Brantley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
