Basketball Recap: Kofa Comes Up Short

Kofa extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They took a hard 64-50 fall against the Yuma Criminals. The Kings were down 52-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for Yuma, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. That looming 64-50 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Yuma got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elmer Emerson out in front who posted 20 points. Emerson's big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Joharie Cobb, who scored 14 points.

Looking ahead, Kofa will square off against Red Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Kings will be up against the Mountain Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Yuma will take on Cibola in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
