Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

A well-balanced attack led Faith Christian over North Newton in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Faith Christian Eagles snuck past the North Newton Spartans with a 54-50 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Barrett, who went 7 for 12 en route to 15 points. Barrett continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Miller, who posted 16 points.

Faith Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Newton only posted five assists.

When it comes to explaining why North Newton lost, don't look at Jared Kutsch. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 13 on his way to 23 points. Jackson Alexander was another key player, putting up six points.

Faith Christian's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for North Newton, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Faith Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-50 loss against Lafayette Central Catholic on the 18th. As for North Newton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-36 defeat against Delphi Community on the 18th.
