Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pungo Christian Academy

Pungo Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 7-4. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jackson Walker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Walker was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Byrd, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Pungo Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Pungo Christian Academy will challenge Lawrence Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Lawrence Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 victory against Fayetteville Christian on the 18th.
