Prairie's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Muscatine, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Muskies beat Prairie by a score of 5-3 later that day.
