Preview: Braddock Bulldogs vs. Ferguson Falcons
Braddock is 8-2 against Ferguson since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. After each having a week off, the pair will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 15th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything went Braddock's way against Mourning as Braddock made off with a 27-7 victory. Braddock pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Mourning cut but never quite recovered from.
Braddock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brian Delrio led the charge by rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Delrio was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Medero, who gained 90 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Ferguson rose to the challenge on Thursday. They breezed by Reagan on the road to the tune of 28-0. Winning may never get old, but Ferguson sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Braddock is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-1 record this season. As for Ferguson, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Braddock came out on top in a nail-biter against Ferguson in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 29-26. Will Braddock repeat their success, or does Ferguson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
