Football Recap: Fannin County Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Fannin County's offense. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of the Rabun County Wildcats on Friday. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rabun County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reid Giles, who rushed for 83 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, and also picked up 95 receiving yards. Another back making a difference was Lake Evans, who rushed for 108 yards and one TD.

Fannin County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rabun County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Fannin County will face off against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rabun County, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dalton at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
