If Immanuel wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clovis East, they should've done a better job of containing Anna Cheatham. The Timberwolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Eagles on Tuesday with plenty of help from Cheatham, who had 41 digs and three assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 14.1 digs per game.

Clovis East was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Clovis East was led to victory by Ellie Her and Naomi Debbas. Her had 13 digs and one assist, while Debbas had six kills and six digs.

Clovis East's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Immanuel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Clovis East and Immanuel will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Timberwolves see the court they'll take on Bullard at 6:30 p.m. on September 9. As for Immanuel, their break will end when they face Justin Garza at 6:00 p.m. on September 9.
