Northern Bedford County hasn't had much luck against Mount Union recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will square off against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Northern Bedford County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Northern Bedford County barely beat Williamsburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Blue Pirates 36-14 on Monday. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.

Northern Bedford County got a massive performance out of Kaylee Ebersole, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Ebersole a new career-high. Josie Robinette was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double.
Northern Bedford County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mount Union might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was West Branch who claimed the real prize. The Trojans fell 10-7 to the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.
Payton Williams was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Reagan Yocum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Dimoff, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Northern Bedford County pushed their record up to 6-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Mount Union, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northern Bedford County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mount Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Northern Bedford County couldn't quite finish off Mount Union in their previous meeting back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
