Football Recap: Elite Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Elite's offense. They were dealt a 60-0 loss at the hands of the Golden Sierra Grizzlies on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Ma'Kai Little threw for 91 yards on nine of 17 attempts. Carter King was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

Golden Sierra was led to victory by Andrew Gerondakis and Noah Prine. Gerondakis threw for 297 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per attempt, while Prine rushed for 115 yards and one score. Those 297 passing yards gave Gerondakis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abraham Ware, who rushed for 66 yards and one TD.

Elite's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Golden Sierra, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Elite didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-22 loss against Lindhurst on the 3rd. As for Golden Sierra, they have also already played their next contest, a 22-20 defeat against Highlands on the 3rd.
