Baseball Recap: Boulder Takes a Loss

Boulder dropped to 14-8 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the ThunderRidge Grizzlies by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Sam Skubic made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

As for ThunderRidge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 9, 2025.

On ThunderRidge's side, the team relied heavily on Tanner Rhodes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. The Grizzlies are 3-1 when Rhodes posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boulder will welcome Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for ThunderRidge, they will be playing at home against Rocky Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
