Baseball Recap: Goldthwaite Comes Up Short

Goldthwaite's last matchup with Bangs could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Goldthwaite Eagles came up short against the Bangs Dragons, falling 13-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Goldthwaite got a good showing from Wyatt Jones, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Goldthwaite saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isak Rainlend, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one double. Jack Wetzig was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Goldthwaite's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bangs, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. As for Bangs, they will welcome Coleman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
