Baseball Game Preview: Yosemite Badgers vs. Caruthers Blue Raiders

For the first time this season, Yosemite will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will welcome the Caruthers Blue Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Yosemite's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Caruthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Yosemite is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Mendota on Tuesday. Yosemite came out on top against Mendota by a score of 6-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Caruthers was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They came up short against Exeter, falling 14-2. The Blue Raiders have struggled against the Monarchs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Yosemite has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Caruthers' loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Yosemite took their win against Caruthers when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 20-5. Does Yosemite have another victory up their sleeve, or will Caruthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
