Baseball Recap: Glendora Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Glendora and Claremont have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Tartans walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wolfpack. For the Tartans, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Wolfpack walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Santiago Garza made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Garza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Obert, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Obert's first of the season.

Glendora's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Claremont, they now have a losing record of 7-8-1.

Glendora will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolfpack: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
