Baseball Recap: Stevens Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Stevens took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Jefferson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cavaliers 7-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won four games in a row.

Stevens got a great performance from Brady Waddell as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts Waddell has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Stevens let Karter Brager and Caidan Comparetto run wild. Brager went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Comparetto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave Comparetto a new career-high. Austin Flohr was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Stevens' win bumped their record up to 11-4-1. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Stevens wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against O'Gorman on the 25th. Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
