Basketball Game Preview: Dawson School Mustangs vs. SkyView Academy Hawks

The Dawson School Mustangs will face off against the SkyView Academy Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Dawson School was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Estes Park.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, SkyView Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lyons.

Dawson School will have to keep a close watch on Lydia Slocum and Reagan Martin, a pair of players who had a big impact on SkyView Academy's prior game. Slocum dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Martin went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points. Those ten boards gave Slocum a new career-high.

SkyView Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Dawson School, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Dawson School came out on top in a nail-biter against SkyView Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 33-31. Will Dawson School repeat their success, or does SkyView Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
