Basketball Recap: High Point Central Bison vs. Northeast Guilford Rams

This season hasn't been kind to the High Point Central Bison, who are still winless after their 19th match. They were beaten by Northeast Guilford 60-28 on Friday. High Point Central has not had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why High Point Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eleanor Ilderton. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points. Ilderton is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Serenity Mac, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.

High Point Central dropped their record down to 0-19 with that defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.4 points per game. As for Northeast Guilford, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

High Point Central will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockingham County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bison in North Carolina (the Cougars are ranked 179th, while the Bison are ranked 552nd). As for Northeast Guilford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
