Football Recap: Seguin's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

If Seguin was feeling good fresh off their 68-30 takedown of The Colony last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 30-23 to the Mansfield Timberview Wolves on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost six in a row.

Aj Horace threw for 211 yards and three TDs. On the ground, Kadarrius Trotter rushed for 45 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mansfield Timberview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylin Barnett, who picked up 108 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Davin Hill handled things on the ground, rushing for 99 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Seguin fell to 5-1. As for Mansfield Timberview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Seguin is set to challenge their familiar foe Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,038 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Mansfield Timberview will face off against rival Mansfield Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
