Baseball Recap: Rocket City Triumphs

Rocket City posted their closest victory since February 17, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Giles County Bobcats 4-3. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Timmy Hays looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rocket City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Taylor, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Bill Bushnell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Rocket City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Rocket City's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Giles County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
