Soccer Game Preview: Mesa vs. Pinnacle

The Mesa Jackrabbits will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Pinnacle Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Mesa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked ninth at the time (Mesa was ranked first). Mesa's defense stepped up to hand Shadow Ridge a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. The win was just business as usual for the Jackrabbits, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

They hit Shadow Ridge with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isaias Barron, Victor Mendez, and Ivan Soto.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle made easy work of Tucson High Magnet School on Monday and carried off a 4-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Pinnacle's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mesa, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
