Softball Game Preview: Franklin Road Academy Panthers vs. Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals

The Franklin Road Academy Panthers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Wednesday, Franklin Road Academy made easy work of Atlantic Collegiate Academy and carried off a 10-3 win.

Millie Pardue made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Franklin Road Academy got a massive performance out of Breyannah Williams, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Williams has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lillian Van Allen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet got the win against University School of Nashville last Thursday by a conclusive 22-7. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Franklin Road Academy took their win against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6. Will Franklin Road Academy repeat their success, or does Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
