Softball Recap: Cascade Extends Winning Streak to 15

Cascade put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Newport Cubs 14-3. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 14-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Amyah Miranda, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Malia Scanlan was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive contests.

Cascade's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Newport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
