Soccer Game Preview: Bethel vs. Hampton

The Bethel Bruins will face off against the Hampton Crabbers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethel has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bethel's offense. They came up short against Menchville on Tuesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Bethel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Menchville are ranked 38th).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Hampton was forced to settle for a draw. They and Heritage finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.

Hampton's draw gives them a new season record of 3-11-1. As for Bethel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8-2.

Everything went Bethel's way against Hampton in their previous matchup back in April, as Bethel made off with a 6-2 win. In that matchup, the Bruins amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
