After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warrensburg-Latham, Riverton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Athens Warriors 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since April 20, 2024.

Tyler Meyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jaden Rivelli was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Riverton's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Athens, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Coming up, Riverton is taking a road trip to challenge Lanphier at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
