Basketball Recap: CHESS Christian Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

CHESS Christian had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Silas Kempe did his part to make it ten on Tuesday. The Royals claimed a resounding 82-22 win over the Royalmont Academy Classical Prep Cristeros thanks in part to Kempe, who shot 77% from the field on his way to 24 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Elijah Taylor also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

CHESS Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Royalmont Academy Classical Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

CHESS Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-51 win against Miami Valley HomeSchool on the 13th. Royalmont Academy Classical Prep has also already played their next contest (against Dominion Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
