Football Recap: Braxton County Eagles vs. Lewis County Minutemen
Braxton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Lewis County Minutemen by a score of 3-0. The Eagles lost against the Minutemen in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 41-0 score last time.
Braxton County wouldn't let Lewis County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Braxton County can thank Logan Payne and Eliah Moore for forcing both of them. Moore didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Braxton County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lewis County, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Braxton County will be playing at home against Midland Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewis County, they will venture away from home to challenge Elkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
