Football Game Preview: Battle Mountain vs. Glenwood Springs

On Friday Glenwood Springs will take on Battle Mountain at 7:00 PM. Glenwood Springs don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

After flying high against Eagle Valley two weeks ago, Glenwood Springs came back down to earth. Glenwood Springs found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 14-42 punch to the gut against Palisade last Thursday. Glenwood Springs were down by 14-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Battle Mountain might be getting used to good results now that the squad has four wins in a row. They had just enough and edged out Steamboat Springs 35-33. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.

Battle Mountain's win lifted them to 6-1 while Glenwood Springs's defeat dropped them down to 2-5. We'll find out if Battle Mountain can add another positive mark to their record or if Glenwood Springs can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Battle Mountain's step.
