Basketball Recap: Craig Skates Past Petersburg with Ease

Craig won the last time they faced Petersburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Craig Panthers claimed a resounding 59-32 victory over the Petersburg Vikings. The win was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Craig found their leader in sophomore Sara Steffen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. Steffen has been hot, having posted 13 or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Faith Horner was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Craig smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Craig's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Craig beat Petersburg by a score of 41-22 on Saturday.
