Baseball Recap: Summit Gets the Win

Summit won against Franklin on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Spartans came out on top against the Admirals by a score of 4-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-3 win on Tuesday.

Davin Roush spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Dawson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Summit is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

Summit will host Grace Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will be playing at home against Nolensville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
