Basketball Recap: Kouts Takes Down Tri-County in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Kouts rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Tri-County Cavaliers by a score of 56-45. Given the Mustangs & Fillies' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tri-County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trey Foster, who shot 67% from the field en route to 16 points, and Grayson Schneider, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Schneider has posted since back in January. Noah Pratt was another key player, putting up five points and five boards.

The win (which was Kouts' fifth in a row) raised their record to 23-4. As for Tri-County, they moved to 14-12 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Kouts will challenge Monroe Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Monroe Central will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Kouts surely won't give up without a fight. Tri-County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
