Center Grove dropped their record down to 17-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Brownsburg Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kellen Thomson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched eight innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Drake McClurg and Andrew Krupa stepped up to the plate in a big way. McClurg got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Krupa went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases. Grady Grant was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Center Grove will head out on the road to square off against Bloomington South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 3.1, the Panthers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Brownsburg, they will host Noblesville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
