Golden extended their winning streak to 11 on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 16-3 in the process. They came out on top against the Evergreen Cougars by a score of 7-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Demons also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Sawyer Brinkman tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gunnar Hetrick was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Casali, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Golden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.

As for Evergreen, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-5-1. Their defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

On Evergreen's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Mauro, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Golden will square off against rival Wheat Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in the Demons' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Farmers have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Evergreen is set to take on their familiar foe Standley Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
