Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Lejeune's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Lejeune won the last time they faced East Carteret and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lejeune Devil Pups blew past the East Carteret Mariners 62-39. The Devil Pups have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Lejeune's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devon Charles led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Charles' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Sebastian Dorelien was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Lejeune smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Lejeune is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for East Carteret, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
