Basketball Recap: St. Peter Takes a Loss

St. Peter was the 79-76 winner over Marshall when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Peter Saints came up short against the Marshall Tigers on Tuesday, falling 89-69. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Tigers are ranked 69th).

St. Peter's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

St. Peter will face off against Kasson-Mantorville at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. St. Peter is facing Kasson-Mantorville at the right time seeing as Kasson-Mantorville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Marshall, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Marshall Tigers challenge the Redwood Valley Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Marshall likes a good challenge.
