Basketball Recap: Fairmont Piles Up the Points Against St. Pauls

Fairmont waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 76-45 victory over the St. Pauls Bulldogs. The Golden Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.

Fairmont had a senior duo take command as Landon Cummings dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards and Josiah Billings dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Billings is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last 18 games he's played. Another player making a difference was A J Stephens, who posted seven points and six steals.

St. Pauls lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Yoshua Mcbryde, who put up 11 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakhi Purcell, who scored ten points.

Fairmont's record now sits at 14-6. As for St. Pauls, their record now sits at 5-15.

Fairmont has already played their next contest, a 47-31 loss against West Bladen on the 11th. As for St. Pauls, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-63 win against Clinton on the 11th.
