Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Colts vs. Lumberton Pirates        
        
		
            
 In what's become a running theme this season, the Cape Fear Colts gave their fans yet another huge  victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Lumberton with a sharp  81-56 victory. Winning may never get old, but Cape Fear sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
  Jayda Angel was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 31 points and ten  rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which  she has scored at least a third of Cape Fear's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kayia Starling, who  scored 22 points along with five  rebounds and three  blocks.
 Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Gabryell Locklear, who  scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Locklear has scored all season.  Charley Whitley was another key contributor,  almost  dropping  a double-double on nine points and nine  rebounds.
 Cape Fear pushed their record up to 14-1 with that  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Lumberton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
 Cape Fear will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Purnell Swett will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Colts are ranked 24th). As for Lumberton, they will head out on the road to  face off against  the Buccaneers at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
