Volleyball Recap: Altamonte Christian's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over + How To Watch

After flying high against Legacy Charter on Tuesday, Altamonte Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Winter Springs Bears on Thursday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Winter Springs scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.

Altamonte Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Valeria Marte, who had 18 kills and three blocks. Marte is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Fritz, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Altamonte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Winter Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Altamonte Christian will take on Lake Mary Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winter Springs, they will square off against Matanzas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
