Football Recap: Althoff Catholic's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Althoff Catholic was the 49-21 winner over Belleville East when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders took a 31-17 bruising from the Lancers on Friday. The loss put an end to the Crusaders' undefeated start to the season.

Josh Ware was a one-man wrecking crew For Belleville East. as he rushed for 138 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. Ware showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 51 yards. Another back making a difference was Jaedon Beamon, who rushed for 82 yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Althoff Catholic fell to 2-1. As for Belleville East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Althoff Catholic will square off against Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Belleville East, they will take on O'Fallon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Lancers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
