Basketball Recap: Peachtree Academy Takes a Loss

Peachtree Academy was the 58-49 winner over Trinity Christian School of Griffin when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the LIONS by a score of 40-37 on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Peachtree Academy still got an impressive performance from Julian Baluta, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. Baluta has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Liam Abraham, who had ten points.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin was led to victory by Travone Appling and David Galindo. Appling dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, while Galindo shot 67% from the field on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Peachtree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

The future could be bright for both Peachtree Academy and Trinity Christian School of Griffin: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Panthers will try to hand HALO their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Trinity Christian School of Griffin will look to extend Central Christian's eight-game losing streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
