Baseball Game Preview: New Paltz Huguenots vs. Middletown Middie Bears

The New Paltz Huguenots will take on the Middletown Middie Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

New Paltz had taken Roosevelt down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Huguenots took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Presidents.

New Paltz saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Drewnowski, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Middletown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Cornwall Central 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Colby Stoehr, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Daniel Aviles was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Middletown now has a winning record of 8-7. As for New Paltz, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
