Softball Game Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Coronado Cougars

Silverado hasn't had much luck against Coronado recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Skyhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Silverado has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Silverado heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to Palo Verde. The Skyhawks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Meanwhile, Coronado faced Bishop Gorman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Gaels by a score of 10-9.

Bailey Goldberg made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alohi Mundon, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Silverado's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.

Silverado might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Coronado in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Skyhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
