Basketball Recap: Ignacio Takes a Loss

Ignacio and Cedaredge squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ignacio had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cedaredge Bruins, falling 55-32. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Bruins are ranked 49th).

Cedaredge was led to victory by Carley Malinowski and Sammy Denison. Malinowski dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards, while Denison posted 14 points and three steals. Denison has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Lydia Tietz was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Ignacio has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. The win keeps them at an undefeated 24-0.

Ignacio does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedaredge, they have already played their next matchup, a 47-31 victory against Yuma on the 8th.
