Soccer Recap: San Benito Takes a Loss

San Benito lost against Harlingen back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The San Benito Greyhounds fell just short of the Harlingen Cardinals by a score of 2-1. One reason for the loss might be the Greyhounds' aggressive play style: three San Benito players were handed yellow cards.

Their goal came courtesy of Jiovanni Najera, who's now up to 22 this season.

San Benito's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-8-2. As for Harlingen, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11-1.

Coincidentally, San Benito and Harlingen will both be playing Edinburg North the next time they take the pitch. San Benito will head out to face Edinburg North at 6:30 p.m. on March 17th, while Harlingen will host them at 6:30 p.m. on March 21st.
