Soccer Game Preview: Auburn vs. Montgomery Academy

The Auburn Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Montgomery Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Thursday, it was close, but Auburn sidestepped Central for a 3-2 victory.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Academy came tearing into last Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Wolves. That's two games straight that Montgomery Academy have won by just one goal.

William Brewer Welch was the driving force of Montgomery Academy's attack as he scored both of Montgomery Academy's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Montgomery Academy pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three games. As for Auburn, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.
