Basketball Recap: Braden Liberi Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Keene Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northeastern Clinton, Boquet Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They managed a 59-55 win over the Keene Central Beavers. That's more bragging rights for the Griffins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Boquet Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braden Liberi led the charge by going 6 for 8 en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Liberi is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Carson Leibeck was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five steals.

Peter Robjent and Vann Morrelli certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Robjent went 7 for 15 en route to 20 points along with seven steals and three blocks, while Morrelli dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Morrelli has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hyler Isham, who posted four points and four steals.

Boquet Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Keene Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Boquet Valley will host Lake Placid at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Boquet Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. As for Keene Central, they will face off against Chazy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Keene Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
