Preview: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. Penns Manor Comets
After three games on the road, Purchase Line is heading back home. They will take on the Penns Manor Comets at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Purchase Line suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a tough 75-52 defeat at the hands of Harmony Area. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Purchase Line has suffered against Harmony Area since December 13, 2021.
Despite their loss, Purchase Line saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brock Small, who scored 12 points along with five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Owen Misko, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Penns Manor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 63-50 to Homer-Center.
Purchase Line's loss was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Penns Manor, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Purchase Line came up short against Penns Manor when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 51-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Penns Manor's Carter Smith, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Now that Purchase Line knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
